A family-built house of stone.
From a single staked claim in 1998 to one of British Columbia's most trusted nephrite exporters — our story is written in green.
"We don't sell stone. We steward a material that has shaped human culture for nine thousand years."
Boreal Jade Co. was founded by a small team of geologists and prospectors who believed that Canadian nephrite — denser, tougher, and more deeply coloured than any in the world — deserved a level of stewardship matching its quality. We staked our first claim in the Cassiar mountains in 1998 and have never looked back.
Today we operate three active properties across northern British Columbia, supplying master carvers in Suzhou, sculptors in Italy, lapidaries in Germany, and discerning collectors and importers across forty-two countries. Our jade has been carved into imperial-scale sculpture, set into haute-joaillerie pieces, and laid as flooring in five-star hotels.
What unites our customers is an exacting standard. They know that a Boreal boulder arrives professionally sawn-tested, geologically documented, and graded by people who have spent their lives looking at this stone.
Every kilogram traceable to a single claim, vein, and extraction date.
Reclamation-first practices and partnerships with First Nations communities.
Hand-graded by veterans who have processed thousands of tonnes.
Canadian nephrite: the world's benchmark.
British Columbia produces over 75% of the world's gem-grade nephrite jade. The unique geology of the Cordillera produces stone of exceptional toughness and colour purity — the standard against which every other deposit is measured.
We are proud to carry that heritage forward.
